Deep in the forest in a forgotten part of the world, an ancient runestone lay dormant for centuries. Created by the race of elves before recorded memory, the Maiden Rune as they called it, persuaded the elvish people to replenish their numbers and repopulate in times of strife or war. But with the elves long removed from the earth, the runestone and the magic within lay silent and dark in a hidden corner of the world, long forgotten by those who tread the earth.
Then one evening, nearly a millenia since it had last shone its light, the Maiden Rune awakened and once again cast its persuading magic into the surrounding forest. But the runestone had changed, and either by years of neglect or through willful hands, it no longer simply encouraged repopulation, but lowered all inhibitions and brought forth the basest of desires of all those nearby.
